| I am amending a return in ProSeries Basic for the first time. The amendment is simple but just want some help with the software. I was able to amend the 1040, but what is the best way to amend the California 540? The amounts don't carry over from the 1040x. On the 540x, the original filed amounts were replaced with the new amounts so I can't show the difference column correctly. Do I go back to the original return and start a new file to amend the 540 now? So I will end up with 3 computer files -- the original filed return, the amended federal and the amended state? Any guidance would help so that I can be efficient in the future. | |
