I know we're all a lot more focused on counting down how many returns are left (about three dozen coming yet for me) and we're all wired, glazed in the eyeballs, grumpy, and selfish right now. (Or is that just me?) But...stop and take a moment to understand and appreciate what God in Heaven did this weekend, available to any who are willing. Contrary to most reports, He's not about trying to wreck your party. He is most desirable thing that there is, the very thing we've been searching for all our lives. But the other team doesn't want you to know that. He's calling us to join Him...when you do, you'll never regret it. Happy Easter my friends.

I don't mind doing taxes, or even the chaos of April taxes. I also don't mind being the music director at church. What I do mind is that Easter and tax chaos collide every year. This is the most important time of year in our church - the Maronites consider Easter bigger than Christmas. I remember the year I was in Lebanon for Easter and had to go to church under the protection of armed guards.

As screwed up as our government can be, I thank God I don't have to do that here.

Thanks JR! I was just thinking along similar lines while driving to work. Gosh, it's such a beautiful day outside too. It's so easy to get wrapped up at work during the mad season and forget what's really important and what God did for us. Hope everyone here has a great Easter.

We all have so much to be thankful for....but you're right most of all for Jesus!

I lost it about two weeks ago...I was just sooo tired and simply was getting nothing done on any of my clients tax returns due to many "non-tax season issues with clients" that took priority...I remember my day started off with me crying on my husband's shoulder before coming into the office...crying all the way to the office....and finally just did what I should have done at the beginning -- prayed to God for help. Funny prayer really...."please stop the phones from ringing so I can work." God is so...good - and He still is in the business of answering prayers! I can see God's hand all over these last couple weeks. God is good all the time! May you all have a blessed Easter!

Happy Easter to all of you (and to anyone who posts on this thread after me)!

Wwtaxes, it's funny you say that about Easter being bigger than Christmas, which it really is. Many years ago, I sang with our church choir. After the entrance hymn, the priest at our church, proclaimed proudly, "Welcome to the holiest and most important day on the Christian calendar." To which a friend sitting right next to me said with the straightest face, "Geez, I thought it was Christmas." Well to keep from being caught laughing, I bowed my head as if I was praying trying like heck to hide my face. The choir director had to go outside, she was laughing so hard. Several other choir members lost it. One of the blue-haired women in our parish at the end of Mass came up and chastised us for laughing in church. When we told her what happened, she laughed as well. It still makes me laugh to this day.

Again, Happy Easter!

Thank you JR for reminding us to keep things in perspective with our busy time and the Lord. I'll be at 8am mass on Sunday and then straight into the office to work all day.

I sincerely wish everyone here a very blessed Easter holiday. Everyone here is just super helping each other which is what the Father & Jesus wants us to do. We should be glad for the mountains that come before us as they teach us how to climb and grow in the Lord. I don't work Wed. nites, teach at Church and always go to Sunday School & Church every Sunday because I need a good feeding of his word for strength before the new work week starts again.

I feel blessed to have found this site just after last tax season Everyone is so helpful & I appreciate all the help and advice that has been given to me. We just keep passing it on.

God bless you all.

Jesus was resurrected on Easter morning, so I resurrect this thread, merely to say thank you Jesus, for saving a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see. ALLELUIA!

It's a miracle! First I find this wonderful site to help me with my hard to answer questions in my business (I am a solo preparer in my home). Then I get spiritual refreshment from some of my fellow preparers! And we are so blessed to be in a country where we can praise Jesus on an income tax forum with no persecution or harrassment. Thank you to the moderators of this forum to allow us to proclaim the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Happy Easter to All!!

Oh and what I can say.....thank you JR....I thought this morning I am going to start a thread about the Holiest of days and you beat me to it!! I slept in....didn't even want to work today but somehow I got trapped into it :)

We can see that JR lives what he says....today I want to live my gift...the gift of compassion....

Today and should be each and every day, we should live our life's calling....what did Jesus do? Yeah, he did miracles, but the greatest miracle was giving. Let's give to all...no matter who they are, if they are hungry feed them....just give and He will take care of you.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise him all creatures here below, praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost, amen.

Thank you my friends!!!!!

Damn crying now....

Happy Easter to you as well JR1. Went to Mass this morning with the family and we enjoyed it. I keep telling the kids (ya - 17, 19 & 22) okay - this is a sing along....

Now, I am not going to go religious on you but today we do celebrate "His" resurrection which is very, very important - but what was more important was the start of all this on Friday - "He" died on the cross for "our sins" - without this act it would not have worked. Put these two together and it becomes a complete event!

"He who knew no sin became sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (II Cor 5:21)

Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul.

Thank you, Lord, for making me whole.

Thank you, Lord, for giving to me,

Thy great salvation so rich and free.

Thank you for the post JR...made me remember what really matters. I have been going crazy this past season because I was going nuts with work and then on top of it doing our Easter production. At my church, our Easter production is done FOUR times during Holy Week...two of which are on Easter Morning. I decided to work as much as possible the past few weeks so that I would not have to look at tax returns on today. I was told by our choir director that I was not allowed to quit and I am glad that I didn't. But I am sorta vegging right now and ready to go to the trenches tommorow...

HE HAS RISEN...HE HAS RISEN INDEED!!!!

May I add my thanks and praise as well. I am trying so hard to stay commited to not working on Sundays and fitting 80 hours into only 6 days. Maybe that's why I've been so 'mean' to my office mates and less tolerant than I would otherwise have been. I still believe God blesses me and helps me to get it done and I just need that one day off and spending it at church, especially yesterday, was a blessing indeed. God bless you all as we approach this earthly finish line and daily as we approach His.

Thank you JR for saying what matters the most. I love Easter and what it means for us. It's always good to get our minds off this stuff and think about what's really important. I am praying for wisdom in this last week though. This site has been great in helping me. Thank you all and it's almost over. :-)

Time for a refreshment! As 8" of snow falls here in Chicago on Good Friday...and three weeks remain of tax season, I want to pause and remember the stuff that lasts long after the snow melts and the returns are one day shredded. I'm reading a Jimmy Buffet novel right now, and he paints one scene that sticks with me. Dad is a ham radio guy, and teaches his young son how to operate it. At the age of eight, Dad dies. But the son remembers what Dad had told him, that he could get anything on that radio if the settings were right. And he works and works at it, even stringing an antenna wire onto a water tower to improve reception. He has no doubt that no matter where Dad is, he'll tune him in. But of course, that never happens, and the boy loses interest and moves on with his life.

Our lives are like that. We had communication with a Dad who loves us. But it was cut off, and ever since, we've been trying to get it back (most of us unaware that it was Him we even wanted to talk to!). But He is transmitting, we need to get our antennas up, listen carefully, and re-establish contact. That's what this weekend is about.

Happy Easter. You can come home.
