It takes several weeks Martineo and with this time of year, it may take even longer. I requested one in December for a client and I received it in February

have either of you tried e-services? It is, like, instant when you want this type of information. Once you input the 2848 there is no waiting weeks to get a response.

Never Taxea. The 2848 was faxed - Tell me how to do it on line, please.

It is a client that got ammended return in years 2001 and 2002- Checking again, I saw 2 amended done in year 2001- The second one , I'm guessing it is the valid, and she said no $ was received after that. Status was changed from H of H to MFJ. I asked for both: husband and wife. I don't understand how the guy is finishing owing a big amount of $ to the IRS. I think the amount of money is too much. The woman have no idea of what happened A mistery - I have a small "red light" telling me that some IRS's guy made a mistake.

Is there an injured spouse relief here?

Martineo First you go to irs.gov professional preparers site and scroll down until you see e-services. Once in the site you need to register. There are clear directions for everything you can do and the site explains what you can get by secure email. Once you have registered you can enter 2848's before you fax them. I is a little tedious in setup but once you get the hang of it .... it sure beats waiting weeks for transcripts. There is even an area where you can do problem solving via the site. I love it.
