I wonder if anyone has had any experience with this scenario. A person made charitable contribution to donor advised fund and the fund will be given to a public charity. This fund will count for 60% of this public charity's contribution revenue. Will this fund considered to be from public support or individual? Thanks.

Despite the intervening fund transfer, the substance of the transaction is that the individual made a contribution to the public charity. Individual contributions ARE public support (direct, in this case) as regards Form 990, so I'm not sure what the confusion is. For whom are we defining it?

I would strongly urge the donor to be sure that the "donor advised fund" is a 501c3 organization; check the IRS publication of 501c3 orgs at the IRS web site.
