Hi, DJ. Thanks for your concern. There was no link on your discussion page to send you a message, so I clicked on Edit This Page. Hope this works. I called the vet's office on Wednesday, told the receptionist my cat's symptoms, and she said she would have the vet call me back, but it wouldn't be until after 5 pm. I already had plans to continue my celebrating-the-end-of-tax-season vacation in front of a Keno machine, so I was doing that all night Wednesday, and then I had to sleep most of the day yesterday. Today, I'm trying to decide again what to do.
Another symptom I forgot to mention is that he has lost about 7 lbs (out of about 19 lbs) in the last month or two. I know that I could spend hundreds of dollars for drugs and treatment to prolong his life, but I'm not sure that's what I should or want to do. I think I'll make an appointment and then decide after I talk to the vet. I'm trying to find the energy to call the vet again today. I'm just wiped out right now, but that's more from spending three nights at the casino since Saturday night and not all from tax season. I'll let you know when I find out more. Thanks again for your concern!

Hi DJ. I took my cat to the vet today and found out what I suspected. He has diabetes, so for now, I'm giving him two insulin shots each day, every 12 hours. And I had to change his diet, so I bought the food from the vet. If he doesn't improve in a few weeks, I'll probably have to choose the other choice, but I decided it was best to at least try to make him feel better. Then I realized today that he's only 13 and not 14. The vet seems to think the insulin will help with the frequent urinating, thirst (dehydration), and walking problems (muscle loss).

Inherited annuity
Hi DJ,
I didn't remember a thing, but I looked up the discussion you referred to. Kevinh5 is the one you need to ask about the annuity. Not my area of expertise. To the extent your client has income in respect of the decedent that is taxable for federal income tax purposes, she also has taxable income for NJ, because she is a NJ resident. That's all I was trying to say. KatieJ 23:13, 7 April 2008 (CDT)

I've heard nothing, but swear she posted once this past summer. I could be wrong. I hope it is only a case of burnout.

Thanks!
Thanks, DJ! I guess I got kind of burned out two years ago after spending a lot of time making categories here. This year, a lot of my March clients were here in February, so I haven't been as busy in March as normal. I never used to get caught up until April 15th. With clients wanting their refunds earlier this year and those doing their own with Turbo Tax, I've had too much time on my hands. :) Drop-offs picked up a lot yesterday, so I'm hoping the time will go much faster in the next three weeks.
Sorry to hear you're having a rough season this year! Hope you're doing well and thanks for your comments!
