Your nickname

Just going by your nickname...but do you read David Eddings?

I also go by Margaret and David Eddings is one of my favorite authors. I admire Polgara for her take charge attitude and the fact that NO ONE messes with her. Polgara 23:57, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Rereading Eddings in my spare time...

Yeah, I know what you mean about Polgara. I really like David Eddings and I was very sad that he and his wife have passed away. I have been bugging DelRay (Random House) to put out the First Four series in Ebook format...I reread those books at least three times a year...and I have to buy new PB every year..

David Eddings Died!!!

I didn't know that. I guess that I have been away from that scene too long. I am surprised that you have time to read during tax season??

Reading during tax season

I read during tax season to keep my sanity. Besides when I find an author I like I stick with them. David Eddings was one of them that I followed as closely as I could. I only have a few others in that genre that I like, and then it's touch and go. BTW you are talking to laticiaw :) It's cool to find someone who likes to read what you do :)

Restaurant discussion

Your restaurant discussion seems like more of a tax question; it's posted in chat and as such might get more "joking around" kinds of questions than you might otherwise expect - not so far, but you never know, with the chat forum.

So I think I'm going to move it over to the tax forum. Please let me know if you really wanted it in Chat.

David Gemmel too!

I also like reading Gemmel as well. I just finished rereading the Belgariad. I have been a bit tied up with taxes so I would have responded sooner.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

Basically, as a co-moderator or monitor, you would help do the following things in your spare time while reading TaxAlmanac posts:

-Delete spam and block spammers.

-Moniter for decent behavior and language.

-Enforce community rules (however they may evolve - with your help).

-Move/Categorize/Clean up/Link discussions as needed.

You would be given special user rights/priviledges by Tim Doyle to allow you to do these things. A general user cannot block another user, for instance. A sysop/moderator can. Look here: http://www.taxalmanac.org/index.php/Special:BlockList to see how many have already been blocked and why.

A sysop/moderator can also revert pages quickly to undo disruptive changes made by those who have malfeasance in mind. They can also 'protect' pages so that they cannot be changed by anyone other than another sysop/moderator.

Trillium, I and Tim Doyle would help you learn how to use these various tools.

I will pass your name on to Tim Doyle at Intuit.

Thank you
