Hello, and welcome to TaxAlmanac! My name is Tim Doyle and I serve here in the role of TaxAlmanac Moderator. If you haven't done so already, you might want to review our Quick Start Guide to help you get oriented.

As you begin to interact on TaxAlmanac, your changes will be linked to this page, your personal user page. We encourage you to edit this page and add a short description about yourself. This will allow others to better understand your background and qualifications as they review any replies or information that you submit.

If you have tax-related questions, we encourage you to add them in our Tax Questions Discussion Forum. We also suggest that you introduce yourself to the other members of the TaxAlmanac community on the User Introduction Discussion Forum.

If you can think of anything we can do to make TaxAlmanac a more useful resource to you, please feel free to give us your feedback on the TaxAlmanac Feedback Discussion Forum.

I hope you enjoy being a member of the TaxAlmanac community! If you have any questions, see the help pages or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Since your latest question is on software and e-filing

Hi - Since your latest question is on software and e-filing, I'm going to go ahead and move it over to the Practice Management/Business Growth forum. That's where all software discussions are meant to be, and also where most e-filing discussions go. The people who frequent that forum (who are numerous, by the way!) are more likely to be interested in this kind of question than those on the tax forum, who have asked us to try to limit the questions to issues of taxation.

You can still get to the question via the "my contributions" link at the upper right corner of your screen.

Also - there's a ProSeries-specific forum where you might get more traction on this kind of question (since here we have people using not just ProSeries and Lacerte but all the other varieties of SW, too). Click on the "ProSeries tax software" link at the bottom left corner, in the "Intuit resources" section of links, and then click support and community. It's not as active as TaxAlmanac, and focuses much more on making the software work, but that might be just what you need here.

End of the forum

You may have heard by now that the Tax Almanac ( ) web site forum is permanently closing its doors effective June 1. Perhaps you have seen the pink bombshell “Important Service Announcement” when logging in.

Long-time TA user ChrisV2 has volunteered to set up a new website where TA users may continue the discussion. The site is up and running now and has an active base of contributors.

We invite you to take a look and join your fellow TA refugees.
