hi AEM CPA - could you take a moment and look over my last question re the BPT in Phila - thanks

NOL Carryback

You responded to a previous post regarding a NOL carryback to a year where a taxpayer did not meet the minimum filing requirement. - NOL Carryback Questions

I have a followup question regarding your response.

Taxpayer has NOL for TY 2008 and had no filing requirement for TY 2006. On the 1045, should I list 2006 with an AGI of $0 or outright ignore 2006? To make it a bit tougher on you, can you direct me to documentation that outlines this.rexpope

I really don't think....

That comment in the discussion about "unemployment" was necessary.

Truth is, that was only released Thursday, March 26th by the IRS. It hasn't been up for "some time." Four days at most. I was having a little fun there.

FYI, I have partial vision loss in my right eye at this time. I don't see things on the right side of the computer screen as well. Hence the reference to "missing it," since it's on the right side. It was merely a joke.

Sorry to sound sensitive, I normally am not. But I was just trying to interject some humor.

No problem...

Tony,

No problem. In hindsight, I got carried away. I was tired and I'm sorry. I get irritated when people respond to posts like mine when they really don't have to at all. It seems if they are taking "a shot" at somebody. I think Deback did in her post. It wasn't necessary for her to mention the 6 weeks. I wish I could remember what happened a week ago.

Anyway, thanks for the response. Talk with you soon.

I really appreciate the support on the forum with Uncle...I tried letting it be but he just keeps on. In any event, thank you.

Old threads

I kind of figured you didn't realize that was an old discussion. It happened to me so many times, now I usually look at the date before I start reading. I also used to think that threads should be locked, but when I go to other sites (mostly for computer problems), and the threads are locked, it is a little frustrating. You may have heard by now that the Tax Almanac ( www.taxalmanac.org ) web site forum is permanently closing its doors effective June 1. Perhaps you have seen the pink bombshell “Important Service Announcement” when logging in.

Long-time TA user ChrisV2 has volunteered to set up a new website where TA users may continue the discussion. The site is up and running now and has an active base of contributors.

We invite you to take a look www.taxprotalk.com and join your fellow TA refugees.
