moving mobile home
My clients have a mobile home in AZ, first personal then rented 2003 through June 2006, at which time the lot they were renting to park it on was sold. They have decided to move back to AZ, so they paid $7900. in 2006 to have the mobile home moved 200 miles to Sun Valley. Could this be deducted as a moving expense? Rental expense?
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to TaxAlmanac! My name is Tim Doyle and I serve here in the role of TaxAlmanac Moderator. If you haven't done so already, you might want to review our Quick Start Guide to help you get oriented.
As you begin to interact on TaxAlmanac, your changes will be linked to this page, your personal user page. We encourage you to edit this page and add a short description about yourself. This will allow others to better understand your background and qualifications as they review any replies or information that you submit.

Your Question
I noticed the question that you asked here on your User Talk page. This page is basically where others can leave you personal messages. Other people will rarely see what is added here, so you should probably ask your question in the Tax Questions Discussion Forum.
Let me know if I can be of any further help.

How to ask a tax question on TaxAlmanac
I noticed you put a tax question on the talk page of Reg Sec. 1.170A-14, back in March. The question is unlikely to be seen there by those who would answer it. If you'd still like some responses from the community, you should post the question directly in one of the discussion forums (e.g., in the tax forum, you click the link to Start a new tax question and be sure to comply with each of the steps on the following pages).
First, though, you need to update your user page (profile) to indicate your level of experience/background as a tax pro, as without that it's not clear that you are eligible to participate on the Tax Forum anyway, as that is limited to tax professionals. Questions posted by those who have not yet updated their user profiles are subject to being moved to the Consumer Forum.

Here is the question you posted to the talk page referenced above:
My client received a Form 1099-G from U.S. Department of Agriculture that says "Taxable Grants Block number 6. The above amount represents taxable grant payment(s) to you for the following agency or agencies: Natural Resource Conservation Service. If I put it on the 1099-G worksheet on line 6, taxable grants, it carries to other income on the Form 1040. Should this be reported on his Schedule F?
