Customer deposits
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I agree the answer is percentage of completion revenue recognition.
I assume my cabinet guy has a qualified accountant. The metal fabricator has a bookkeeper and quick books. We are often weary of Quickbooks until we know they are used by a qualified accountant.

Yes I know that I may be wrong and do not recommend this position to my clients without tons of caveats, but I have been told that I am wrong about a lot of issues by gurus and particularly IRS folks and have gone on to prevail.
Thanks for your response
Bushmaster, thank you for your help. I agree, hard to argue not a developer and allocation of costs sounds like exactly what I've done. Thank you again. Where in NC?

Call for Funny Tax Stories
Hi Bushmaster,
My name is Vanessa Piccinini and I work at Intuit's Public Relations agency. We came across your funny tax stories and would like to share them with an accounting Web site interested in running stories like yours during the busy tax season to give readers a good laugh.
In order to participate, just reply to this message giving your permission. We will not share your story unless you respond giving us permission to do so. Additionally, we will give your avatar credit for it, since we do not have your real name and even if we did, we would not probably not include it to ensure client confidentiality (though the chances of your client reading the accounting publication in question may be very slim.)
Thank you in advance for your attention!
