Hello, my name is Mike and I go by the nickname MP-JD-LLM. I am semi-retired, but work as a self-employed tax attorney specializing in international tax. My practice is mostly focused on inbound investment, but also a significant amount of outbound. Lately, I have had a number of clients in voluntary disclosure, mostly expatriates living in Canada and Europe who just discovered that they have reporting obligations. Having worked abroad for a money-center bank for 14 years, I love mergers and acquisitions. Unfortunately, I have also had to handle transfer pricing issues and estate and gift tax with respect to NRAs.
