Although not a CPA, I have a Masters Degree in Accounting and 25+ years of accounting experience including working for a CPA firm. I am currently a CFO for a grocery chain and have held this position for 12 years.

The company I work for has had the fortunate and unfortunate priviledge of having a unique competitive advantage which has left it extremely resilient to change. The comfort zone resulting from this has brought about a high level of complacency amongst ownership of which I am ashamed to admit I found myself becoming susceptible to.

After much soul searching, I have come to understand that I am at a point in life where I need professional growth. I happened to stumble upon this site in the early stages of undertaking this journey and quickly became excited at the prospect of conversing with, and learning from, others within my profession.
