Hello, my name is Stephen Lamphear and I go by the nickname Burientaxman. I am an unenrolled tax preparer. I have owned/operated my tax service in the state of Washington since 1976 -- Professionals' Tax Service.

I prepare individual, partnership, small business, small nonprofit, and estate income tax returns. I also provide discounted bookkeeping services to small, local nonprofits. My clientel is stable and loyal; I take new clients only by referral since off-the-street clients are not "house trained". My many repeat clients are spread across the country and keep coming back because I "make tax day 'almost' fun". I get to know my clients personally and no one sees me as the stereotype green eyeshade account. I'm irreverant as a personality and prefer that my clients "like" me in addition to respecting my work.

I assist clients in audits (very few over 33 years), and rarely have adverse findings because I train clients to keep records (not an easy task!).

I am involved in my community as a citizen activist (8 years as a city councilmember). I volunteer at the local food bank to distribute food.
