Good afternoon,

My client experienced a loss in the shipment of product. It was suggested by their attorney to issue an invoice for the cost to replace and re-ship the damaged product. The cargo insurance company is denying coverage and the carrier (a sole proprietorship) has gone out of business. Is it possible to write off this invoice as bad debt?
