That was the last thing I heard from a lady on the Practitioner Priority Line after asking to speak to her supervisor. I thought she was telling ME to hang, but after telling her I was NOT hanging up followed by a long silence, I realized she was just announcing her intentions....and now I'm back on hold! |

Morrow, I've had that happen before and it's really irritating. Not much you can do about it either because when you call back not only do you get a different person, it's likely you're in an entirely different geographical area. Some people on the end of the line will hang up at the least sensation of irritation or frustration on your part, and I guess they are instructed that it's OK to do so.
The worst, or maybe most memorable one was a few years ago, I was calling with a question on the tip form, as I recall a procedural issue, not personal. After going through a lot of hoops and answering some really silly questions, the person on the phone asked me if my client was a US citizen. I asked "What possible relevance does that have to my question." Response: Click. Time wasted, no help, start over. |

Luckily, the next gentleman was able to do what the original lady told me was impossible. I should have just hung up and started from scratch as soon as she said made me spell the client's full name and mine as well, which were typed out on the 2848 I had just faxed to her 3 times. But I digress, lesson learned. |

the sound of her "hunt-and-peck" typing skills (no offense to those that have such skills) should have clued me in as well. |
