Hot off the presses-- taxpayer blames TurboTax for years of incorrect returns and then uses the "Timothy Geithner" defense, as in "Treasury Secretary Timothy Geitner admitted screwing up his own returns on TurboTax and almost lost the nomination!"

Capital losses on Schedule C, bogus rental losses, etc...

See my other post on the Chat page. I had thought that preparers' had a higher standard for positions taken on a return than the taxpayer. Apparently, this is not true.
