I've used ProSeries for the last 10 years. We process over 1000 1040s plus 300+ psp, corps etc. What benefits would I have to "upgrade" to Lacerte? I'm on a peer to peer network with 3 workstations.

I've used Lacerte for 19 years on a network with 3 work stations and a server. I like Lacerte but it is the only software that I have ever used. Lacerte is a little pricier than ProSeries but if you are spreading it over 1,300 tax returns it wouldn't amount to much difference. I think that the only thing that you can do is try the demo version of Lacerte and see how you like if or find another preparer that uses Lacerte and give it a try with one of your more complex returns.

There was an extensive discussion of this not long ago on Tax Almanac. I saved the following link, because this question was raised at a CPA discussion group I attend: Discussion:ProSeries versus Lacerte
