Tim, when I reply to a discussion forum, if possible I had a code or Treg cite. I saw that you monitor these discussions and add the links later. If you teach me how to do this and if its not to hard, maybe I could add the links when I reply?

I basically take a note of whether it's a link to the Code or the Regs, what the number is, and then from the main page, I access the Code or Regs from the Green tabs and navigate to find the item being cited. Once I've found it, I highlight the title of the page & copy it into my buffer, return to where I wanted to add the link, and insert it (paste it) as a link.

For example, if someone was trying to reference Code Section 614, I'd find Sec. 614 on the Code list and on that page, I'd copy the title "Sec. 614. Definition of property" and paste it into a link like this: [[Sec. 614. Definition of property|Section 614]]. In case you're not familiar with this link format, the first part is the exact page name to link to and the second part after the vertical bar character is what to display as the link.

One of the things on our wishlist for future enhancements is to develop and implement a much easier way to do this. Hope this helps until then!

Also, note that you can't currently link to a specific area within a page. If someone was citing Sec. 614(c)(3), the best you could do is to link to the page for Section 614. In this case, you could use a link like this: [[Sec. 614. Definition of property|Sec. 614]](c)(3) which would be displayed like this: Sec. 614(c)(3).

Okay, I think about trying what you recommend, but it sounds complicated, and case senstive, and there are all these little brackets, and the blonde in me can't handle the stress.... (I'm really a readhead with blonde streaks, natural of course, but sometimes the blonde holds me back from acheiving greatness).

I can certainly understand that - the current method isn't the easiest to do, though it's not that difficult once you try. Feel free to use the Discussion Forum Test Area if you'd like to try it. In the meantime, one of the things on our improvement list is to make it easier to cite code and regs.
