Lacerte asks for the square feet, business use and total, of home. Is there somewhere to tell the program the space was only used for part of year? Tried to call Lacerte, long wait. Perhaps I have to calculate the %.

Thanks for any help.

You can prorate the amounts before you enter them (by x/12), or you can enter the number of hours (x/8760).

Deb, there is a business %age field that will do that. Just remember to change it back to 100% (the default) next year. -- Larry Hess, CPA, Albuquerque, NM - Talk to me

I don't recall that feature being in ProSeries Pro. I'll have to look again, when I think of it. Thanks.

Well, there you go. Lacerte is not the same a ProSeries. Their pedegrees are totally different. Lacerte was developed from scratch 27 years ago while ProSeries is a outgrowth of Turbo Tax. -- Larry Hess, CPA, Albuquerque, NM - Talk to me
