Do I need request a new FEIN or could I transfer my current one? Also, would I have to reapply for E-file?

Yes, you would need to request a new FEIN, and yes, you would have to reapply for e-filing.

Thanks Deback. Just out of curiousity, is a corporation's credit established on its own, or through the shareholders?

You will find almost any lender will make the shareholder/officer personally guarantee any loan, and if he or she is married, they may require both signatures even if spouse is not an officer or shareholder. Credit card companies will solicit for company cards, but you will be the liable party. Eventually after many many years, the corporation will be considered separately from the owner. I would note some creditors, landlords for one, phone companies etc do not require personal signatures.

Is building a credit file with D&B worthwhile?

Only if you want to publish publically your financial info so that telemarketers have better information. OR if you do business with large vendors regularly, they'd require it.

A lot of commercial banks aren't using D&B anymore. Too much of the info comes directly from the company (who's going to report bad info on themselves).
