I mailed in Form 23 with copies of my certificates showing I passed all parts of the EA exam on June 19. They cashed my $125 check right away but haven't heard anything since. Their website says to wait 90 days before contacting. Does anyone else have any experience on how long it takes to get your EA card?
Thanks, Kerry |

it took me a long time and i received a phone call that i had missed some questions filing out the form. that was the cause of the delay |

They sure take their time don't they?
I'm about 40 days from the end of my 120 day period, and the suspense is killing me. I can't wait to put the EA designation on my resume, so I don't have to explain the delay when I go on interviews. |

Well folks, I just got my enrollment card in the mail today! So it took ~95 days to process my enrollment. |

Thanks BethAZ and Actionbsns! The IRS even sent me a certificate with a gold sticker and everything.
Beth, your images are profound, inspirational, and slightly disturbing. |

TC, you just made me realize what that framed certificate is on the wall. I'd taken it so for granted. Dated May 10, 1995, this must mean I passed the test (for the second time) in the fall of 1994. It hangs between a framed snippet from an e.e. cummings poem ['the moon is hiding in her hair'] that my late wife read at my daughter's viewing in 1989, and the diploma Farfel received from Dog Training School in 1994.
To become an Enrolled Agent is something that will always give you pride. We are happy you are joining the ranks!!!! Now as Joe Stalin said, don't get dizzy from the height of success, but get to work. |

"profound, inspirational, and slightly disturbing" is fitting for a career in tax prep :)

Good post, Beth. Kev's pic really does cover all those things. |

c'mon, you think I am only SLIGHTLY disturbuing? Give me some credit! |

Your picture is only slightly disturbing. You, on the other hand, are way beyond slightly. |

TinCook, I'm jealous - your certificate sounds a lot more impressive than the one I received from IRS. Mine looked kind of like my kindergarten teacher created a "Student of the Day Award" and photo copied it to send home to my mom. I bought a plaque from some vendor a few years later that is really cool and a whole lot nicer to have on the wall. I can't remember where I got it though.
Beth I love your pics. How do you do that? |

Mine actually has a blue and white ribbon above the gold seal and Gothic script. The Director of Practice appears to be someone named Robert Beaver or something like that. I don't recall getting anything but a letter the first time I passed in 1983. |
