CAN A BROKERS LISTING OF GAINS AND LOSSES BE ATTACHED TO THE 1040 INSTEAD OF LISTING EACH INDIVIDUAL SALE? THE TAX PAYER IN QUESTION HAS OVER 200 TRANSACTIONS. BROKERS STATEMENT LIST DATES, COST, SALES PRICE AND SHORT OR LONG TERM GAIN OR LOSS. |

Yes, but if you efile the return, you'll need to use Form 8453 and not 8879. Send in the schedules with Form 8453. |
