I don't know what is going on on this page, it all appears to be scrambled.

I was going to edit to change my response to Tax Writer's post regarding the Tax Court decision.

The standard for taking a position on a return seems to be the same for both taxpayers and tax preparers according to this article.

Hi, Crow - if the chat index looks scrambled, try clicking on the top of the column for "last post" (where the "last post" label is), that should re-sort the index to the so-called normal setting. Also, here's a link to the other discussion, in case you also wish to edit there: Discussion:T/P Blames TurboTax for Errors in Tax Court!.

And while I'm posting hints and tips, if you look at the top right corner of your screen, you can see a link for "my contributions" which will show you all the discussions you've posted to. Well, in your case, as a prolific author, you'll have to click 500 views and look at multiple pages to see all of the discussions, but the point is - your most recent posts will show up right at the top of the list, enabling you to easily go back to recent posts. FYI and all.

Got it. The provision to raise the standard for preparers to more likely than not appears to have been repealed, or withdrawn.

P.S. Tax Writer did not make the mistake, I was correcting my post.
