| On the TV show "Get Smart" we had the good guys (I guess that was "Control"), and the bad guys ("Chaos"). Control had a headquarters, right? But Choas was kind of amorphous? Couldn't ever really put the finger on Chaos, hence the name Chaos. (I had to to edit this already because I'm half asleep, someone correct me if I'm wrong about the TV show.)
So I wake up this morning and I see this: MSN (quoting US counterterrorism officials) can all the sudden locate "al Qaida Central" and Bin Laden. Hmmmm. But we can never manage to actually find these guys? I mean if you use this language, the language has to MEAN something.
To call something "Central" doesn't that imply something? Like Central Headquarters? Central something? Now they are in Pakistan it's said. By God, if there is a "Central" and a Bin Laden, let's go get them. It's time to hold the news media and the government responsible for their vocabulary. It's almost TEN YEARS since 9/11! For instance, can ANYONE tell me if Bin Laden is alive or not? After all this time, do we know? He seems to be alive on some days, and "probably dead" on others (with his bad kidney disease we've been hearing about for 10 years). | I have yet to get a straight answer on whether Bin Laden is alive. But he always seems to appear when they need him.
I'm not doubting there are very bad people out there. What I'm saying is, IF there is a bin Laden, and if there is an al Qaida "central" let's get after them dammit. I thought I heard a few months ago that al Qaida was dispersed? Now we have a "central". I heard bin Laden had to be dead by now, today he's alive again.....it's amazing. | |

| I kept waiting in October 2008 to hear about his capture but forgot headlines like that only boost the incumbent, and we had none. So long about October 20, 2012 you can expect to read that headline. Of course, by then print media won't exist and all news will be on television or the internet.
