May the wind be at your back, and not be from the corn beef and cabbage you have for lunch. |

My maternal grandfather had this sign in his apartment. I remember it vividly:
May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back The sun shine warm upon your face And may You be in Heaven a half an hour before the Devil knows you're dead! Always loved it. Tom |

I stopped in this morning to see one of my Irish friends in the judiciary and I thought we might share a little drink before he went on the bench. He told me that since it's his normal routine to have a few shots of a morning anyway, he thought that in honor of the day he'd abstain. Fortunately, I was able to get a nip down at Sheriff O'Byrne's office. |

Wearing green means you are a Catholic. If you are a Protestant, you are supposed to wear orange. So I asked a tough old Jewish woman what color Irish Jews should wear...she said "Black and blue." |

Sister Thomas Aquinas just run through the rectory topless and clutching a half empty bottle of the Bushmills. She's got a fine start on the day she does.
For an old priest like me I'm used to it. They'll be lined up out me door next week to confess. Crow you better come by for a drink now before the sisters find me stash. |

Good one, Norm.
Personally, I would prefer a Guinness "Black & Tan." Tom |
