Use the word "Holding Company". Without the "View" tally, it looks like nobody has read my post and I'm talking to myself. In "Tax Questions" I was trying to start a discussion regarding a new client setting up what they are calling a Holding Co., but I think it's more of a management co. Anyway, I did a search for Holding Co here, there were two discussions, one about a RE HC, that was irrevelant and not all that long, one which received no response and is from 2007. I changed the title a little bit to excite some interest, nothing. I'm not complaining. To quote Fred - "I'm just sayin'".

Hey, Paula, don't forget that our idiosyncratic search engine will only look for the exact thing you've entered. I haven't checked out any of the discussions these searches find, and it may be that the only on-point discussions are the two you've already found, but just in case, you get different results (with some overlaps) for each of these:

Plus, it could be worse. If the views count gets restored, you might find that, say, 283 people viewed your discussion and still you had zero replies. Better to just assume that it hasn't yet been viewed by the right person. Things'll pick up again on Monday....

Thanks Tril - I'm not complaining, actually it's kind of funny. It happens, some topics are just more interesting than others. Start talking about COD or S corps or whether to serve PBR with dinner and the results are very different. But if anyone wants to kick in, I do welcome comments. I'm going to check out the management company you suggested, I just haven't gotten there yet.

And no one has commented on my stipend vs scholarship either. So sad.

Like I said Fred, some topics just aren't sexy!! Now what can we do to the titles to generate more interest. Yours - may you could try "Sex, Stipends and Scholarships!!" How's that?

Paula, let's see how that works out. lol

W/r/t Fred's "sex" discussion: vague recollection that the important thing might be what the payment's for (rather than what it's called)? See if these do anything to add to that: stipend scholarship. And there was a recent discussion where somebody provided what looked like a really good link on getting into what's apparently a very gray area - gotta think a bit to figure out how to search for that one....

Edited to add: I was probably thinking of the fellowship/grant issues (a la Spiegelman), so likely not as helpful as I'd hoped.
