Hi,

My employer had put my new address in CT as of 2009 on my 2008 W2 which he sent to me in January. Now, for a little background, I was laid off in July of 2008. I just started doing my taxes online and even though I have not finished them, it says I owe almost 371 to NJ, where I lived for all of 2008. I find it insane that I owe NJ so much. My federal is like, 800 back.

I did have fed. taxes withheld from my Unemployment Benefits as well.

Now, because my old employer put my CT address on my 2008 w2, does that affect anything with NJ State Taxes?? HELP?!

Your address on your W2 is not going to cause any problems. Unemployment is not taxable to NJ.
