Company developed a software package for resale. Also sells hardware. Are the development costs eligible for the R&D credit? Are they currently deductible or even amortizable? The costs look very much like inventory with no determinable life.

I just looked that up for a similar situation & concluded it can be written off currently as R&D costs.
