A real estate agent happens to own a condominium that he rents. First does a real estate agent qualify as a real estate professional and second should this rental income be reported on a Schedule C or Schedule E?

A real estate agen is a real estate professional. If he owns investment property and has it rented out then this is reported on Sch E.
