| If you have clients that sell items over the internet you only have to charge sales tax if your clients has a presence in that state such as an office or warehouse, otherwise it is the responsbility of the purchaser
is that correct? | |

| This is correct to a point Pascindon; but according to the laws in most states, if the purchaser does not pay the use tax, then the burden shifts to the seller. The states want their monies and if they don't collect it from the purchaser, then they can and sometimes will look to the seller for the sales tax. Nexus as well can be created simply by shipping items via non-common carrier and thus create a nexus establishment in that state. Research your individual states for their nexus questionnaires.
I am not trying to be the bearer of bad news, but it has come to my attention that out of the states, some are more inclined to charge the seller due to the inconvenience of trying to collect sales taxes from individuals :) | |
