| Tim: One cannot format an original post when creating it. The post must be created and saved and then edited to get the formatting options (bold, underline, etc.). Why? Thanks | |

| Actually, you can use formatting codes as you type without being in the editing mode. For example, I put 2 apostrophes before and after this sentence to italicize it. And I put 3 apostrophes before and after this one to bold it. When the post is saved the codes don't show up onscreen. -- Larry Hess, CPA, Albuquerque, NM - Talk to me | |

| PGatto:
I think you're referring to the fact that the edit buttons show on the page edit screen but not on the new article template page or above the reply edit boxes on the discussions. Larry is right - you can add the formatting codes manually, it's just the buttons which are not visible. I wasn't really sure if anyone used the buttons or not. Do you find them useful or confusing?

| Tim, if you can put the buttons in the Reply to this discussion view, why not do it? I'm sure some people will use them. -- Larry Hess, CPA, Albuquerque, NM - Talk to me | |

| I don't know all of the formatting codes by heart. It's nice to have the edit buttons to do it automatically. And yes, I do use them a lot. | |

| I'll add it to the enhancement list... thanks for the feedback!
