I am preparing tax returns for a client for the following tax years: 2000-2008. The client is entitled to EIC credit in some of those tax years...like 2000 for example. Is there a statute of limitation on EIC? I know that there is a statute on amending for the EIC credit , but what about if your filing the 2000 return in 2009?

Thank you Kevin. I called the IRS and they did say that there is a statute of limitation on any refunds of 3 years. Any amount that may be due in those tax years will be owed.

Man..I never understand clients that never file that are due a refund.
