I have a client who started her and disolved a business in 2005. She has some cell phone expenses and I am unsure how to include them on her schedule C. I know that cell phones are listed property and should be depreciated but I cannot depreciate an item for a business that was started and disolved in the same year. Any thoughts on how to handle this? Thanks for your help.

Are you wanting to record the cost of the phone or just some of the phone calls?

Write off the phone this year. Depreciate? Section 179? Listed property? The phone costs a whole $99?....unless you got one of those fancy $129 ones!
