| I have done my own taxes (and my childrens) for several years using a popular computer tax program. I have learned how to successfuly navigate the program and just have to refresh each year and adapt to any program changes. I have a question about a 1099-Misc I received this year from my employer, a municipality. I received a $500 a month bonus Oct-Dec for a total of $1500. No taxes were withheld, the City was supposed to pay payroll taxes on it but not witholding so we could each receive the full $500 each month as a bonus. The box is checked that it was 'non-employee compensation'. I feel like it should have been 'other income'. Will it make a difference in the bottom line, should the employer file an amended 1099? | |
