There has been some discussion in the past regarding a non-applicable entity filing a 1099-C under ยง6050P. As I recall, (perhaps erroneously) the consensus was it should not be done. However, see:

Thanks for the link Solomon, I wouldn't say you were wrong, it seems most of the past discussions related to 'business cancellation' from non-payment, I liked the part were it was not specifically dis-allowed to file a 1099-C, also the part that in order to claim the 'non business bad debt' one had to file a 1099-C, which was not true.
